Questions About Product Pricing?

Brutal Honesty uses a print-on-demand (POD) production partner to fulfill all orders. This means that we provide the design, they provide everything else – from manufacturing the item to shipping it to our customers. Because we do not maintain an on-hand inventory of items over which we have a great deal of production control, we have to factor in several things when determining prices for our items.

What does this mean for you? Our production partner uses a variety of fulfillment vendors, and each of those vendors comes with their own price structure for the items they prepare, produce, and ship to our customers. There is a production price and a shipping price that we have to pay to our production partner for each item, as well as transaction and payment processing fees for each order.

We are working with making adjustments to our prices on an almost daily basis, to figure out what is going to work best both for you – our customer – and for us. After all, while we love what we do, we do have to earn a living doing it.

Should we add a flat rate shipping fee to offset that cost? Should we stick with a static percentage rate for the profit margin? Should the retail prices be raised to compensate for the small factors we may have forgotten about?

We are working on every aspect of what we do, how we do it, and how we can put it in your hands with the least possible fuss, cost, and inconvenience. Because we are a new brand with a new business, these growing pains are natural. Thank you for sticking with us!
