Shipping Rates Changed (More Fair, Less Fluff)

The Brutal Honesty team is changing the shipping rates to make it more fair for each customer, based on what they are purchasing and where those items are coming from. Since we use print-on-demand, each item is being manufactured by a different production partner who has their own individual shipping rates. Initially, we raised the retail price of all items to compensate for the shipping rates, and changed the shipping to ‘free for all.’ This method isn’t really the best, economically, for our customers (or us, really), so we are changing it back.

The shipping rates are now item based, and are set by the production partner from whom the item(s) is/are coming from. Some production partners charge nothing for shipping (while we still had shipping padding added), and others charge exorbitantly unreasonable amounts (like $150 to ship an 18×24 canvas print, which is outrageous) that weren’t able to be folded in to the retail rates in a way that worked out for anyone. Another issue with having shipping costs incorporated into the retail price was that when prices flexed due to weather, holidays, or other events that raised shipping costs for our production partners, we didn’t know about it until an order had already been placed (and the extra fees tacked on, which then caused a deficit on our end of the accounting spreadsheet).

Because the shipping rates have now changed to accurately reflect the actual shipping cost to you, our customer, at the time of your order (weather, holidays, and all other factors considered in real time), our retail rates will be modified – beginning immediately. This will be a process that will take several days to complete. This means some items will still show a higher retail price (which includes the shipping cost incorporated into the retail price) until we have plowed through our entire product line-up and modified every single item’s price.
